Where to Watch Folklore and Frost
Folklore and Frost is available to stream on pbs.org and the PBS app.
[Thunder] [Eerie music and thunder] Glenn: Apparently, this movie was made locally in northern New York.
Vanessa: Awesome, I love independent films.
Do you know who made it?
Glenn: I don't know.
I guess it was some local PBS station or something.
Vanessa: PBS?
Glenn: I know.
I was surprised too.
They should have called it A Nightmare on Sesame Street.
Vanessa: Brought to you by the letter M for mayhem.
Glenn: Or the number 2, as in, we're the only two here.
[laugh] Vanessa: Awesome.
I love having the whole theater to ourselves.
Glenn: Okay, simmer down Vanessa.
Empty theater, ooo, exciting.
Vanessa: I love being the only ones in a large, empty theater.
Glen: Yeah, it is a pretty cool place.
Kind of reminds me of Sylvan Beach.
Vanessa: Sylvan Beach?
Glenn: Ah, nevermind.
I'll tell you about it later.
Uh.
Vanessa: So, do you know what this movie's about?
Glenn: I don't know.
It's some Halloween movie called Folklore and something or other.
I don't know, but supposedly, it's about local ghost stories and stuff like that.
I don't know.
Vanessa: Oh, aren't those the same people that did that documentary about Watertown?
My parents love that kind of stuff.
Glenn: Look, the movie's starting.
Vanessa: Hey, somebody left their phone.
Glenn: Ah, just leave it.
[Eerie music, glass shattering, doors slamming, ghostly noises] [Eerie music, glass shattering, doors slamming, ghostly noises] Eerie music, glass shattering, doors slamming, ghostly noises] Eerie music, glass shattering, doors slamming, ghostly noises] Glenn: Uh, all right beginning, I guess.
[Footsteps] Ron Sinclair: Welcome.
I'm Ron Sinclair, and this is Folklore and Frost: Haunted Happenings.
Glenn: Ooo.
Ron Sinclair: I want to share with you some stories from northern New York, but not the stories about long winter nights, drinking hot cocoa by the fire.
Vanessa: Hot cocoa.
Ron Sinclair: No, these stories have a more sinister nature, not exactly what you would find in a tourist's brochure.
Yes, people do come here to enjoy the lakes, the rivers, the forest trails, but beneath these veils of wonder lies something darker, something unexplainable.
There are things here, which cause people to leave their lights on at night and their doors locked.
Isn't that right, Glenn and Vanessa?
Surely, you folks know what I'm talking about.
Vanessa: Did he just say our names?
Glenn: No, no way.
Ron Sinclair: (laugh).
Perhaps, good sir, you've seen something on a darkened road, something you'd rather forget.
Glenn: He's looking right at me.
Ron Sinclair: And you miss, perhaps you've seen doorways to somewhere else, doors that might best be left closed.
Vanessa: Yeah, he's looking right at me now.
All right, this has to be a prank.
Glenn: Yeah, this is just too weird.
All right, jokes on us.
Very funny.
Vanessa: Glenn, you have to be doing this, right?
Glenn: I'm not.
I, I didn't.
I swear.
I have nothing to do with this.
Ron Sinclair: Is that so?
Glenn: Is that so?
Oh, you can cut it out.
Are, are you filming us live?
Ron Sinclair: (laugh).
That has nothing to do with me.
But let's move on, shall we?
Glenn: What the heck?
Vanessa: Okay, you can cut it out.
This is starting to creep me out.
Ron Sinclair: Perhaps this date isn't what you were expecting, Vanessa.
Vanessa: Okay, this is weird.
This is not a date.
Ron Sinclair: You're beginning to see it now, aren't you?
Glenn: This is so strange.
He, he can't be talking to us.
Ron Sinclair: Strange things happen all the time.
Is this so hard to believe?
Vanessa: Let's go.
Glenn: N-, no, no.
We have to see what's going on.
If we're actually being pranked, we should just go along with it.
Vanessa: Okay, I guess we'll stay, but there better be a movie, Ron Sinclair.
Ron Sinclair: Then tonight, let us share tales of the darker side of New York, things beyond the waters and woods, things beyond the veil of this world.
[Music] What happens when a Victorian style mansion becomes a museum and things begin to collide between the living and its past occupants?
[Music] [Music] [Phone rings, plays Monster Mash ] Curator: Hey, how's it going?
Yeah, just ignore that text, okay?
It's just, Luigi's upstairs and ... No, no, I don't think there's any ghost here.
Luigi?
He's upstairs playing.
[Music] What are you talking about?
Come on.
No, it was just that one time.
Ghost: I'll have my tea now.
Curator: Yeah, I thought she was behind me, but it was nothing.
[Thumping noises] [Eerie music, screaming] Ahhh.
No, it was nothing, really.

[Creaking noises, eerie music] Ghost: He's here.
Curator: Okay, yeah.
I'll stop and pick that up for you.
All right.
Luigi: Who, who are you?
Curator: Yes, I'm just closing up now.
I'll be there in about a half hour.
Luigi!
Luigi!
[Banging noises, eerie music] Curator: Luigi!
Luigi: Mom.
Curator: What's going on, buddy?
What's happening?
What's going on?
Luigi: There's someone up there.
Curator: There's not supposed to be anybody up there.
Luigi: Well, there's something up there.
[Big bang, gasps] Curator: Whoa, uh, what was that noise?
Luigi: D-, don't go.

Curator: [Screams] Luigi, get your stuff.
We've got to go.
Luigi: Mommy, what is up- Curator: Get your stuff.
Luigi: What?
Curator: Luigi, go.
Luigi: But- Curator: Go.
Just go.
Ahhh.
[Banging, ghostly noises, screams, creaking door] [Silence] [Big bang, ghostly noises, footsteps, eerie music] [Big bang, ghostly noises, footsteps, eerie music] Vanessa: Okay, Glenn I'm ready to go now.
Glenn: N-, no, come on.
Let's stay.
It's finally getting good.
Vanessa: Did you not remember what happened earlier.
Glenn: But, don't you want us to figure out how they did it?
Let's stay.
Ron Sinclair: Sit a spell.
Vanessa: Oh!
Glenn: Let's get out of here.
[Eerie music] Ron Sinclair: Sit down and watch the show.
You did come for a show, didn't you?
We wouldn't want to disappoint you.
Vanessa: What is going on?
Glenn: This, this can't be real.
Ron Sinclair: Glenn, reality isn't always what you see.
Glenn: Call 911.
Vanessa: It's dead.
Glenn: What about the other phone over there?
Vanessa: It's dead too.
Ron Sinclair: Roads of northern New York are long and lonely, and sometimes accidents happen, and sometimes the consequences last forever.
[Loud rock music, engine revving] [Loud rock music, engine revving] [Engine noises] [Eerie music] Sarah: You really think we're going to see her, don't you?
Mom: Honey, I don't know.
Lots of people have.
Sarah: That doesn't really answer the question.
Mom: I, I don't know.
I just, I, I want to make sure we're safe.
Sarah: I know, I know.
A protection spell, right?
Mom: It's important, honey.
We don't want to bring something home with us.
Sarah: (laugh).
Like your friend from the other night?
(laughs) Mom: You're asking for it, young lady.
First, he is a coworker, and yes, he is a friend.
Sarah: (laugh) Whatever you say.
I mean, far out Mom.
He's a foxy guy.
I mean, just as long as you use a protection spell.
Mom: Sarah, we are not having this conversation.
Sarah: Come on Mom, don't freak out.
Mom: You know what's freaking me out is that you won't let me do this spell, so I can make sure that we're safe.
I'll just surround us with white energy.
It will be fine.
Sarah: Mom, stop.
Tug Hill Annie isn't even real, and you're not Samantha from Bewitched.
Mom: Don't make fun of my show, and Annie died young and traumatically, and, and that kind of thing tends to leave behind spirits.
Sarah: Okay, Tug Hill Annie, catch you on the flip side.
Mom: Sarah, don't be a smart- Sarah: Mom.
What is that car doing?
Mom: Maybe they're drunk?
Sarah: Mom.
What's going on?
He's going to hit us.
Ahhh!
Mom: Ahhh.
Ahhh.
[Car crash noises] [Screams, car crash noises, glass breaking, bangs] [Screams, more glass breaking, crash noises] Sarah: Ahhh.
What just happened?
Mom: I, I don't know.
Sarah: What is going on?
Where did they go?
[Eerie music] Mom: D-, Do you see the other car?
Sarah: Where did they go?
Is the car okay?
Mom: It looks fine, no scratches.
The car's okay.
Mom: But what is that?
What is that?
Sarah: A doll?
Sarah: Don't.
Mom: But why?
Sarah: What is it doing here?
Don't touch it, Mom.
Mom: Well, we can't just leave it here.
Sarah: Just don't.
Let's just go, get in the car.
[Eerie music] Mom: We just hit something Why is there nothing and we just hit something?
Sarah: I, I, I don't know.
It doesn't make sense to be a a doll in the road.
Mom, we just got to get out of here.
Let's go.
[Engine noises, banging, ghostly noises] Mom: Oh.
Tug Hill Annie: Funny what you find on the side of the road.
Look what I found.
It's from a little ankle biter.
Sarah: M-, mom what is going on?
Mom: It's, it's okay.
Ahhh.
[Both scream] Sarah: Mom.
It's - Mom: Oh my god.
Tug Hill Annie: Going too fast, going too fast.
Mom: It can't be.
Oh my God, it can't be.
What?
Sarah: Mom, what is going on?
Mom: It's, it's okay.
Tug Hill Annie: Just need to find my head.
Fix my head.
Mom: I'm going, I'm doing a spell, okay?
Okay?
Tug Hill Annie: Why are you here?
Sarah: Hurry.
Tug Hill Annie: Are you going to the bash?
Could you get me a bottle of wine?
I, I, I, can't, I can't get it.
I, I have to fix my head.
You're going to fast.
I don't even have a license.
No license, no wine.
Sarah: She's gone.
Go.
[Engine noise] Sarah: Mom, I am so sorry I didn't believe you.
Mom: It's okay.
I, I didn't know it was going to be like that.
Sarah: But, but the protection spell worked, right?
Mom: I, I hope so.
Sarah: You hope so?
Mom: It, she's not here anymore.
I-, I'm sure it's, I'm sure it's fine.
She's, but let's just get out of here.
Sarah: Oh my god.
This is the same spot, Mom.
Mom: Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
I, I got a bad feeling about this.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
Sarah: Mom, I'm so sorry I didn't believe.
Mom: It's, it's okay.
Let's just- Sarah: This is never going to end.
Mom: Yes, yes, it will.
It, it has to, okay?
It has to end.
We'll be fine.
Sarah: Mom, just run her over.
Mom: I can't just run her over.
Sarah: Go.
Mom: We can't- Sarah: Go.
[Engine noise] Mom: Oh my God, did I?
Did I do it?
Did I, did I hit her?
Sarah: No, mom.
She's a ghost.
Mom: It's, it's okay.
I'm sure she's gone.
She's gone.
Sarah: The protection spell worked, right?
Mom: I, I'm sure it worked.
She's, she's not here anymore.
Let's just get out of here.
[Mom and Sarah screaming] [Rock music playing] Tug Hill Annie: Could you get me a bottle of wine?
Ron Sinclair: Have you ever heard of the Hiram Hubbard House?
Built in the early settlement days, it is a true, historic landmark.
But within the bones of this house, rattles a restless spirit.
[Eerie music] [Eerie music] Anna: Whatever happens, whatever it does, don't run away.
You have to say goodbye first or it'll follow us home.
Kevin: So, what's it going to do to us?
Cassie: Is this dangerous?
Joey: No, it's just a game.
These things never work.
Cassie: Then why are we playing?
Kevin: Because you said you saw a ghost, remember?
If there is one here, it could talk to us about the other side.
Cassie: But we're not supposed to be here.
Joey: It's okay.
The owners are cool.
I'm helping them turn this place into a museum.
Anna: If there's a spirit here, Cassie, the Ouija board is like a phone for them.
Kevin: Yeah, it's like their way texting.
Joey: Well, if that's the case, what's up with this Ouija board?
I mean it's cool looking, but is not what I expected.
Cassie: Yeah, this is kind of ghetto.
[Laughing] Anna: You guys don't know what you're talking about.
This board was made from an old door at a bathhouse in Sylvan Beach in the 1950s.
Kevin: A bathhouse?
Anna: Yes.
They were popular places for people to meet and clean themselves back before they had bathrooms and showers.
Cassie: They took baths together?
Gross.
Anna: You're too young to understand.
Anyway, this bathhouse is said to be very haunted, especially after they built a carnival ride right on top of where it used to be.
So, you see, this board is very special.
Kevin: So, this board has the spirits of old naked people?
(laughs) Anna: You guys are so infantile.
Kevin: Says the one who plays with Ouija boards.
Anna: This isn't a toy.
If you're not careful with it, many bad things will happen to you.
Very, very bad things.
Cassie: I don't want to play.
[Spooky noise] Kevin: Holy crap.
Did that just move on its own?
Anna: It's here.
Cassie sit back down.
Cassie: I don't want to.
Anna: It's too late for that.
We have to talk to it now, or else it will follow you home.
We at least have to say goodbye.
Everyone, put your finger on the planchette.
Do you live here?
Who are you?
What do you want?
What is your name?
Kevin: Should we move it back to the middle?
[Loud spooky noises] Anna: C. Joey: L. Kevin: O. Cassie: S. Anna: E. Close?
Kevin: Does he want us to close something?
Anna: Or does it mean close?
Cassie: He's close to us?
Joey: Maybe we are close to something?
Anna: T. Closet.
[Spooky noises, eerie music] Joey: Oh my god.
[Spooky noises, door slams, eerie music] [Creaking door, footsteps] Hannah: Kevin?
You better not have broken anything.
[Ghostly noises] [Eerie music] Hunter: I hope this is more interesting than our last client.
James: Yeah, what a waste of time that was.
Celeste: I don't think it's going to be anything like that.
Hunter: Are you picking up something on the old radar?
Celeste: Yes, in fact, it's telling me there's a jerk walking in front of me with a late- to middle-aged crisis.
Hunter: Oh, ouch.
And by the way, it's not late.
James: Well, come on.
This could be something real.
They called us for help.
Let's- Tina: Quickly, come in.
Come on.
James: We're, we're the Casper Cops.
Tina: I know who you are.
I'm the one who called you.
[Banging noises] James: What is going on?
Tina: Hi.
I'm Tina I spoke with you on the phone.
James: I-, I'm James.
This is Dr.
Lehman.
He's a behavior specialist.
Hunter: Call me Hunter.
Tina: Uh, you need to talk to my sister.
James: This is Celeste.
What is going on upstairs?
Tina: I don't know.
It, it hasn't always been like this.
I'm a historian.
I became a curator, because I love old houses like this, but I, I can't go on like this.
I have too much work to do.
James: So, when did this start?
Tina: Things have been happening ever since those children came here.
James: Wait, what children?
Are, are they upstairs?
Are they in trouble?
Should we call the police?
Hannah: They already came.
They didn't do anything.
Tina: You see my sister Hannah?
She's the one I spoke to you about on the phone?
Hannah: That's weird.
Is this some kind of intervention?
James: What is going on?
Hannah: I can't believe you called these people.
Tina: I need help.
Hannah: They can't do anything.
Celeste: Why do you think that?
Hannah: Why do you think you can?
James: You're telling me that there's no one upstairs.
Hunter: Have either of you been upstairs?
Tina: Hannah spends most of her time up there.
James: This is insane.
What is going on?
Tina: -stopped, for now.
Hunter: Tell us what's going on here, and why you are so darn calm?
Celeste: There's a presence here.
James: You don't have to be psychic to know that.
Celeste: I see him.
Tina: Where?
Celeste: He's on the stairs.
He's walking up now.
He has an attachment to you.
Tina: I told Hannah to get rid of that Ouija board.
Celeste: Hannah did you see something that day?
Tina: They saw Robert.
They pointed out his picture upstairs, and I have never shown that picture to anyone.
Hunter: Yes, you said Robert had died here in the 1960's.
Tina: Yes, he fell down these stairs and died.
Those kids pointed his picture out.
James: So, you think it's the spirit of Robert that's making all this happen?
Tina: No, I think is my sister.
I think he's here because of Hannah.
Hunter: Why do you think that?
Tina: I've heard them talking to each other.
James: We need to go upstairs.
Celeste: I don't have a good feeling about this.
James: You're not the only one, sister.
[Eerie noises, music, ghostly sounds] [Eerie noises, music, ghostly sounds] James: That was interesting.
[Footsteps] James: Wait, what's up with that girl, Hannah?
Hunter: Definitely a strange family.
Did you notice Tina didn't look at her sister once?
Celeste: You've obviously not had any siblings.
James: Well, we might as well start the EVP session right here.
So, Hunter, what's your theory?
Hunter: I think most paranormal situations are just forensic waste left behind by nature and human proximity.
If we leave enough of ourselves around them, collected through time, we can manifest into something that resembles what was once a life.
James: Now, that sounds like a lot of littering of human waste.
Celeste: Well, I know you guys leave a lot of your genetic material in the car.
Hunter: All right, all right guys.
You had your fun.
Celeste: I'm going to go check out the basement.
You guys stay up here.
James: Hey, be careful.
Celeste: Believe me, I will.
James: Come on.
Go check out here.
James: Is there anybody here?
What do you want?
James: Did you hear that?
[Eerie music] [Eerie music] James: I got something.
Hunter: I heard it too.
James: Wasn't that door closed?
Hunter: Yeah, it was, Play back the tape.
What does it say?
(James on tape): What do you want?
Ghost: Say goodbye.
James: What does that mean?
Ghost: Say goodbye.
Hunter: Say goodbye.
James: Look, let's just continue on.
[Creaking noises, footsteps] [Creaking noises, footsteps] Hunter: What is that?
James: Do you see anybody in here?
[Ghostly noises, banging, screams] James: Do you want to check that out?
Hunter: Let's leave that alone.
James: Let's look in here.
Celeste: Robert?
Robert, are you here?
Robert, tell me what this ax is for?
Are you the only one here, Robert?
Is anyone else here?
James: Celeste, what are you doing?
Celeste: Ahhh.
James: Hey, why are you holding an axe?
Celeste: I found it on the chair.
James: Wha-, well, nevermind that.
You've got to come upstairs.
[Spooky music] Celeste: So, what did you guys find?
So, what are we looking at guys?
Hunter: It's right there.
Celeste: Who is that?
Hunter: That's Hannah.
Celeste: So, who've we been talking to downstairs?
Hunter: I don't know what.
It can't be Hannah, because she's been dead for 10 years.
James: Well, I think we should go talk to Tina.
[Footsteps, eerie music] Tina: Did you find Robert?
Hunter: Tina, where is your sister?
Tina: I don't know.
Why you asking about her?
This is all Robert.
You need to get rid of Robert.
Celeste: Tina, is Hannah dead?
Tina: She's been dead for 10 years now.
James: Then who were we talking to when we first walked in here?
Tina: You are talking to my sister, Hannah.
Celeste: That couldn't have been Hannah.
If your sister's dead, it couldn't have been her.
Tina: Of course, it was Hannah.
She's been with me ever since I contacted her on the Ouija board.
Hunter: This is beyond unreal.
I, I can't wrap my mind around this.
Celeste: Tina, you've got to say goodbye to you, your sister.
Tina: No.
I love my sister.
You have to get rid of Robert.
James: In order to get rid of Robert, you've got to say goodbye.
Tina: No, I won't say goodbye to my sister.
I can't believe you're making me do this.
I didn't want to say goodbye to her 10 years ago, and I don't now.
Celeste: I understand your grief, honey, but you've got to let go of this and move on.
Tina: It's Robert I want to get rid of, not Hannah.
Can't you understand that?
Celeste: I was trying to help.
That's why you wanted us here, right?
James: Really, Tina, it is better this way.
Tina: Maybe you're right.
Hannah, I, I guess I have to say goodbye.
There, I've done it.
It's over.
Are you happy?
Are you satisfied?
Have I moved on now?
James: You'll be fine now.
[Door opens] Celeste: Do you think she'll be all right?
James: I don't know.
I really don't.
Hunter: I don't know about her, but I'm definitely going to need some therapy after this.
[Eerie music] Ron Sinclair: During the 1800s, ships sailed the many waters of this part of the world.
One ship in particular found its way in to Henderson Harbor, absent its crew.
No one knows the fate of those sailors except the waters of the harbor.
Mother: (humming) [Music playing] Mother: (humming) [Music playing] Beth: As the night swallowed their screams, the lake swallowed their souls.
Agnes: Did that happen at this lake?
Beth: Yes, it was this lake.
And at night you can hear the sailors scream.
[Gasp] Sally: Did Papa see the ghost ship?
Beth: I heard Papa talk about the ghost to mother.
Agnes: Wh-, what did Papa say about the ghosts?
Sally: Did he see ghosts?
Beth: Papa did see the ghosts.
Sally: Mother doesn't believe in ghosts.
Agnes: Mother doesn't always tell us the truth sometimes.
Beth: Papa says he sees ghosts all the time on the lake.
Agnes: Was Papa a sailor?
Beth: Papa hates boats.
(laughs) Mother: Children.
Beth: Mother, um, we're, we're sleeping.
Mother: Bed.
Beth: Well, it says in the book that there was a Captain.
He was the only survivor, but he was a ghost.

Agnes: Mother, do you think that there's a ghost ship down by the lake?
Mother: Ghost ships?
Whatever gave you that idea?
Agnes: Well, Beth was reading this story and- Mother: Beth, what have I told you about reading those stories to your sisters?
Beth: I'm sorry mother, but father gave us the books to read.
He loves those stories.
Sally: Mother, what if those stories are true?
Mother: Well, I'll just have to speak with your father when he comes home.
Go on.
Wash up.
Dinner should be ready soon.
Sally: Aww.
Mother: Go on.
Ghost ships indeed.

Sally: What's in there?
Agnes: You're pet bunny.
Sally: No.
Mother: Agnes.
Beth: Why doesn't daddy like boats?
Mother: Did he tell you that?
Beth: Yeah, I wonder why?
Mother: Well, your father used to be on boats quite a bit.
He just, he just doesn't like them anymore.
Sally: Is that because daddy was on, in the war on a boat?
Mother: Girls, go sit for supper.

I'm afraid you don't realize - Mother: What is this about, Mr.
Ray?
Keeper: It's a matter of some sensitivity.
Mother: Girls, sit back down.
Keeper: There is a boat marooned up on the shore.
Mother: A boat?
Girls, sit.
Keeper: And there was nobody on board.
Mother: I'm sorry, what -?
There was nobody on board a boat?
Keeper: Marooned on the shore.
Mother: That seems more like your problem, Mr.
Ray, than mine.
Keeper: There was no crew.
Mother: No crew?
Wha - Keeper: There was nobody on board!
Mother: What are you trying to tell me?
Keeper: There was a man on the beach - Mother: What man?
Keeper: He was carrying an axe!
Mother: An axe?
A man with an axe?
Keeper: He was a sailor.
I don't know if he was around here or not.
Mother: I've seen no one here, Mr.
Ray.
Keeper: All I know is there was a boat marooned not far from where I saw him.
Mother: Mr.
Ray, frankly I think this is more your problem than mine or Edward's.
Could I please ask you to go?
Keeper: It's everyone's problem!
I have to go.
Hold on to this if you need it.
Mother: No.
I don't want any more guns in my house.
Keeper: I know you don't want it.
Mother: Mr.
Ray, I must insist - Keeper: I will be back for it tomorrow.
Mother: Mr.
Ray, you're speaking madness.
I do not want this.
Keeper: It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
Mother: Mr.
Ray!
Mr.
Ray!
Keeper: I'll be back for it tomorrow!
[Music, door closes] Agnes: Mother?
What's happening?
Mother: Nothing, dears.
Mr.
Ray has been in that lighthouse far too long.
[Eerie music] Beth: But what about the story?
Agnes: What about the story about the ship?
About the Flying Dutchman?
Remember, guys?
From the book?
Mother: The Flying Dutchman?
Is this about that ghost ship again?
Agnes and Beth: Maybe, yeah.
Mother: You girls know there's no such things as ghosts.
Agnes: But what if there is?
What if they're out there?
Mother: There's not.
Ghosts only exist in our heads, and in those books you're not supposed to be reading.
Now finish your supper.
Go on.
[Big bang, gasps] [Eerie music] Agnes: Is that the ghost?
Mother: I don't see anyone out there.
[Eerie music] Sally: It's the ghost.
Agnes: It can't be.
Captain: Let me in!
Agnes: Who is it, Mother?
Who is that?
Beth: Is it the ghost?
Sally: Is it?
Mother: Back door!
[Eerie music] Beth: What are we supposed to do?
Sally: Mother?
Mother: Girls, there's nothing to be alarmed about.
[Big bang] [Eerie music] Captain: Let me in!
Let me in!
Mother: Girls, get on the bed!
Captain: Ahoy!
What happened to me mates?
What happened here?
Agnes: Why, you can't shoot a ghost!
Captain: They're all lost!
They're all lost!
[Eerie music, door opens] Edward: Oh!
What are you doing?
Mother: Edward!
Edward: What is going on here?
Girls!
What's going on here?
Girls, come on, okay, okay.
Relax relax, let me just close the door.
Relax.
[Door latches] Edward: What's going on here?
Agnes: Papa!
It was the ghost from the Flying Dutchman!
Edward: What is this gun?
What are you doing with this gun?
Mother: It was Mr.
Ray, he - it was Mr.
Ray, he was filling our heads with stories about a boat, and a captain with an axe - Agnes: Papa!
It was the ghost from the Flying Dutchman!
I'm telling you!
Beth: The captain, he's a ghost.
Edward: Stop!
This is madness!
Agnes: Papa!
I'm telling you - Edward: No, no!
Mother: There's some truth in it.
There was a man outside, he had an axe.
Edward: Sarah, stop!
You're scaring the children!
[Big bang on the door] Edward: Hey!
Who's out there?
Who are you?
Captain: They're all lost!
Edward: What do you want from us?
Captain: Let me in!
Edward: You need to go away.
Leave me and my family alone.
Just go!
Captain: You need to help me!
You need to help me!
Edward: He's not going to stop.
I'm going to go out there.
I have to go outside.
Mother: You need to take this.
Edward, you need to take this.
Agnes: Papa, no!
Don't leave!
Edward: Children, children, you'll be just fine.
Go with your mother now.
Go, go, it's OK.
Captain: What happened to me mates?
What happened here?
[Eerie music, gun shots] Edward: Sarah!
Mother: Edward!
Girls: Papa!
[Eerie music, gasping] [Pounding on the door, gasps] Keeper: Edward!
Sarah!
It's me!
Only me!
[Eerie music] Keeper: I heard gunshots!
Are you alright?
Edward: I shot him.
I shot him twice.
No further than you and I right now, and he never fell.
Keeper: I have news of the ship.
There were no survivors.
Who was the man that you shot?
Edward: I don't know.
The captain?
I have no idea.
Keeper: The captain is dead.
Edward: No, no, I shot this man.
I shot him.
I don't know where he went but the body must be out there.
Keeper: I don't see any body, but there's an axe.
[Music] [Music] [Bang!!]
Ron Sinclair: Glenn, Vanessa, Thank you for sitting through this show, but there is still one more story to be told.
You may have heard of Thompson Park, its beautiful architecture and history, but within the park lies something which defies physics, and to this day, remains a mystery.
But you, my friends, may find this story to be a bit personal as you become part of Folklore and Frost.
Glenn: Where are we?
Vanessa: Are we at a park?
That's us!
How did we get to a park?
We were just in the theater!
Glenn: What's going on?
Vanessa: I don't know.
We need to find somebody.
Glenn: Wait.
Vanessa: How are we here and also there?
This, this can't be possible.
I don't understand.
Glenn: What's going on?
How are they doing this?
Vanessa: Guys, can you please help?
Can I use your phone?
Glenn: Please, please.
Vanessa: Are you recording us?
God, ridiculous.
Glenn: Please, help us.
Vanessa: Are your guys' parents here?
Do you know where we are?
Glenn: Please, uh- Vanessa: How about you guys?
You have a phone?
Parents?
Anything?
Can you tell us where we are?
Glenn: Please.
Cassie: What's wrong with you people?
Vanessa: We're lost.
Please, we need help.
Joey: Don't talk to strangers.
Vanessa: Ugh!
Celeste: Excuse me, this is a private conversation.
Glenn: I'm sorry.
Please, please- Celeste: No, don't mess with my niece, okay?
Niece: : I have a boyfriend.
Glenn: Ugh!
Woman: Hey, you need help?
Vanessa: Yes.
Please, please, please, please.
Okay, we were at the theater and now we're at some park.
Where, what park is this?
Man: We're at Thompson Park.
Vanessa: I have no idea where that is.
Do you have, a, a phone or something I could- Woman: No, no.
Near Watertown.
Watertown.
Man: Kids.
Frankie: So hey, I'm Frankie.
I run Fact or Fake, the paranormal debunking blog.
Thanks for all meeting me today.
We're going to go try to find this vortex that apparently lives here at Thompson Park.
My girlfriend has let me loose for the day, so I can go hunt this thing with you guys.
So, why don't we go around, introduce ourselves.
Kelly: I am KittieKelly2442, and I have a blog about paranormal cats.
Brad: I'm RicoSuave88.
Frankie: Oh, it's you.
Oh geez.
Brad: And the reason why I'm here today is to meet the girls.
Kelly: Gross.
Brad: Oh, it's okay.
I'm just joking.
Frankie: Yeah.
Brad: I'm actually here today, because I'm skipping work.
I think that's my boss over there.
Frankie: And who are you?
Eric: I'm Eric.
And by the way, did you get my email from the other night?
Frankie: About the frequencies, right?
But you never explained what that was about.
Eric: Yep, I can do that, and I also have it on video as well.
Frankie: Ah, fantastic.
That's going to look so great on the blog.
Awesome.
All right geeks, I've got a perfect place to start looking for it.
Let's go.
Eric: All right.
Brad: I think that's my boss.
Man: I don't know who those yahoos are, but he doesn't work for me.
Kelly: There's Henry, and Sally, and Cookie, and Monkey, and, and there's, there's just so many cats.
Tina: Hey guys, have you seen my sister.
She disappears on my all the time.
Frankie: No, I don't have any spare change.
Sorry.
So this new spot, I heard about it from Kim down at Party Rental.
Those guys- Tina: That was a strange group of people.
Frankie: -know everything about the paranormal hotspots around here.
You ever get a chance, you talk to Kim and those gals down there.
You know what?
They might even talk to you, Brad.
Everybody got your phones out?
Kelly: Yeah.
Brad: Yep.
Frankie: If there's a problem, you just call, all right?
Kelly: Okay.
Frankie: Try to get some evidence of it.
I got my flashlight here.
Does everybody got a flashlight?
Kelly: Yeah, I got my phone flashlight.
Frankie: Fine, use your flash-, use your light.
Brad: Yep.
Frankie: Huh, fine, whatever.
Okay, if you can, try to get evidence of it.
Kelly: Okay.
Frankie: Take a picture, you know.
Don't snap chat it, all right?
We don't need that.
If you see something, text or call.
Brad: How will we know when we see the vortex?
Eric: Oh, you will.
It feels like electricity.
Frankie: The best thing to do is to split up.
We'll all take different trails.
If you encounter the vortex, it's very important you do not run from it.
Everyone says that if you run from it, it will suck you in, so don't do it.
Brad: I hate the vortex.
I hate the vortex.
Frankie: Good hunting.
Brad: Uh.
I really hate the vortex.
Hate the vortex.
[Weird vortex sound] Brad: I really hate the vortex!
[Vortex sound] Eric: I know that sound.
Frankie: What was that noise?
Eric: You guys don't know anything about the vortex?
Some serious stuff going on.
Frankie: Where did you come from?
Kelly: I get lost really easily.
Frankie: Well, did you hear that noise?
Kelly: What noise?
Frankie: The noise that happened just now.
You were standing right there.
Kelly: There was no noise.
Frankie: Oh geez.
I-, we've got to call the guys.
Brad: Don't bother trying to call me.
My phone's dead.
Kelly: I wonder if my- Brad: Nope.
Your purse, it's in the car.
It's locked.
It's safe.
Kelly: She heard a noise.
Brad: Yeah, a noise.
There's lots of noises here.
Just like that dog that's about to bark.
Frankie: How did you know that?
Brad: I've been through this a million times.
If I ever get out of here, I'm giving your blog a negative review.
Kelly: Didn't, did he shave his mustache?
Frankie: Whatever.
Let's just go find Eric.
Kelly: He shaved his mustache.
Frankie: What are you doing?
Kelly: I'm walking.
Frankie: You go that way.
I'll go this way.
Eric.
Eric.
Eric: These guys don't know anything about the vortex.
This is some serious stuff going on here.
Something is going on here.
Kelly: Really wish I didn't wear these boots.
[Vortex noise] Help, Frankie.
Frankie!
Brad!
Eric.
Help.
Help.
Frankie, Eric, Brad, help.
Help, it's going to get me.
Oh my god.
What is going on?
[Vortex noise] [Eerie music] Eric: That definitely is the sound.
[Eerie Music] Eric: There you are.
I've been waiting for you.
[Vortex noise] Maybe not.
[Eerie music, vortex noise] Eric: Whoa, this is crazy.
[Vortex noise] Frankie: God, I can't get ahold of anybody.
There's no vortex.
Karen was right.
She wins.
I give up.
I'm never doing this again.
[Vortex noise] What the heck was that?
[Vortex noise, music] Kelly, where are you Kelly?
I think it's coming!
Kelly.
Kelly, help me.
It's coming.
Vanessa: Don't worry, I've got you.
[Vortex noise] Glenn: Where'd she go?
Vanessa: I, I don't know.
She just vanished, but she left her phone.
Glenn: This is such a weird day.
[Eerie music] Frankie: (cough) Ugh.
What the?
What happened?
What?
Kelly?
Eric?
Oh god.
Brad?
Wh-, Eric?
Brad?
What?
Kelly?
Eric?
Oh god.
Brad?
Wh-, Eric?
Brad?
Eric?
Kelly?
Eric.
[Breathing heavily] Eric: I'm here.
Frankie: Eric.
Eric, where are you?
Eric?
Eric: I'm right here.
Frankie: What?
Eric: Oh my god, that was amazing.
We lost 6 hours.
Frankie: Ugh, that's great.
God, come on.
We've got to go find everybody else.
Brad, Kelly.
Brad: Help.
Frankie: Brad!
Ahhh.
Brad!
Brad: Help me!
Frankie: Brad!
Brad: Something's got my back.
Something's got my foot.
Something's got me.
Frankie: Stop.
Brad stop.
Brad: Some- Frankie: Brad, it's a tree branch.
Stop, stop.
Let me ... Stop.
Are you okay?
Oh.
Brad: I'm fine.
I really just thought something had me.
Frankie: All right.
Okay.
We've got, we've got to go find Kelly.
Let's go.
Come on.
Kelly.
Kelly!
Kelly!
Brad: Kelly!
Kelly: I'm over here.
Frankie: Kelly, where are you?
Kelly: My battery's dying.
Hurry.
Frankie: Oh my god.
Oh, thank God.
Are you okay?
Kelly: I'm okay, I'm okay.
I, but I realized something.
I forgot to feed my cats.
Frankie: Kelly, we just went through a vortex.
Brad: I thought something had my leg.
You have no idea.
I thought it just grabbed me right here.
I thought it - Frankie: It was just a tree, Brad.
Eric: Guys, we lost six hours.
Brad: Six hours?
Eric: Yeah, six hours in time.
Kelly: Six hours that my cats haven't eaten.
Brad: Frankie, this has been fun and everything, but no one's going to believe this.
And I'm okay with that.
Frankie: Brad, I don't even believe it.
Wait.
Where's my phone?
Wait, did you, did any of you guys - Do you remember a theater?
Kelly: Two people in an empty theater, right?
Brad: You saw that too?
Kelly: Yeah.
Frankie: Yeah, I was in the theater.
I had my phone, and I was trying to call for help, and they were, they were trying to help me.
They, they got my, they got my phone.
Kelly, call my phone, quick.
Kelly: But my phone's almost dead.
Frankie: Just call my phone.
[Eerie music] [Phone rings with Monster Mash ringtone] [Silence] Ron Sinclair: What are you waiting for?
The show is over.
I hate it when they leave their phones on.
(Laughs) [Music] [Music] [Swoosh noise]
