A world of curiosities and surprises, where, every day, creatures big and small bite off more than they can chew.
(pea-rexes growling) Join us as we follow the adventures of Ginger, a young tricarrotops, and her unlikely little friends, three baby pea-rexes, Wasabi, Split, and Minty, as they discover the many wonders that exist in this vast valley!
- Woohoo!
This is Ginger and the "Vegesaurs"!
(gentle music) The sun dawns on another peaceful day in Vegesaur Valley.
(distant rumbling) Perhaps not so peaceful after all.
When Mount Vegetoa is active, most vegesaurs saws keep their distance (vegesaurs cawing and calling) (pea-rexes cheering) Most, but not all.
- (panting) Wait for me!
(giggles) Okay, let's go!
(pea-rexes cheer) (Ginger giggles and pants) (adventurous orchestral music) (soft steam hissing) (pea-rexes giggling) Huh?
What are you doing?
- [Narrator] It's a thermal air bath.
The powerful stream of warm air cleans the pea-rexs' skin with an added bonus.
- [Pea-Rexes] Whee!
- Wow!
- [Pea-Rexes] Whee!
I think I need a warm air bath too.
(sighs) (Pea-rexes giggle) (volcano rumbling) - [Pea-Rexes] Whee!
- Ah!
(pea-rexes cheering) - Hmm.
Maybe this one's broken.
- Okay.
- Ah-ha!
(volcano rumbling) (Ginger gasps) - [Pea-Rexes] Whee!
- Woo!
(Ginger groans) I think I need a bigger blow hole.
(Ginger pants) Ah.
Ready?
Here we go!
(steam blasting loudly) (Ginger grunts) - [Narrator] The larger-framed tricarrotops are not built for warm air baths.
(Ginger groans) - [Pea-Rexes] Whee!
Huh?
(pea-rexes babbling happily) - [Narrator] Plugging the other blow holes will push all the air through the main vent.
- Okay.
Time to clean off and get some air!
(pea-rexes babbling) Here we go!
Whoa!
(air whooshing) (Ginger laughing) Huh?
(air booming) Wow.
Guess I really do need a warm air bath now.
Maybe I need to rethink this.
(pea-rexes cheering and laughing) (low growling) Huh?
(coconutdon growling and snoring) - [Narrator] A coconutdon.
When it sleeps, it's often mistaken for a very round rock.
But when awoken, these giants stand at nearly 10 metres tall, and have three enormous nostrils!
(coconutdon sneezes loudly) Which make equally enormous sneezes.
- Woo-hoo!
- [Narrator] Triumph, at last!
- [Ginger] Whee!
Ooh!
(Ginger laughs) (pea-rexes cheering) I don't think I'm clean enough yet.
(giggles) How about you?
(Ginger giggles) (coconutdon sneezes loudly) - [Narrator] Ginger has succeeded in finding her own air bath.
(Ginger and pea-rexes cheering) - [Narrator] But just how clean she is remains uncertain.
(gentle orchestral music) (exciting music) (curious music) (bushes rustling) - [Narrator] The Dragonfruitflyus is an expert mimic of sounds.
- Are you copying me?
- Are you copying me?
(bushes rustling) (dinosaur groaning) - [Narrator] And such displays make them one of the most entertaining creatures in the valley.
(dinosaur squawking) (Dragonfruitflyus squawking) (all laughing) (dinosaur squawking) (Dragonfruitflyus squawking) - Hey, what do you sound like?
- [Narrator] Possibly one of the greatest examples of adaptation ever, the Dragonfruitflyus's call instantly hordes off danger.
- Hey, you finally stopped copying us.
- Hey, you finally stopped us.
(all laughing) - [Narrator] It's the late Crunchiest period, when the world was dominated by the juiciest and freshest creatures ever to rule the planet, the mighty "Vegesaurs"!
(gentle orchestral music) (exciting music) (Ginger giggles) With a top speed of 50 kilometres per hour, and the weight of a small car, when a young Tricarrotops decides to butt heads, it's best to get out of the way.
- Ooh!
Ah!
(adventurous music) - [Narrator] But even Ginger is no match for nectar fossilised in amber.
(Pea-Rexes mumbling) (all laugh) - When we get this open, you have got to try it.
(Pea-Rexes laugh with glee) (Ginger groaning) - [Narrator] Encased in hardened tree sap, fossilised nectar gains complexity and concentration over time, making it the yummiest snack in all the Vegesaur Valley.
(wood cracks) But it's a snack that's rarely enjoyed.
(Pea-Rexes nagging) The older the sap, the harder it is to crack.
(all shout) (wood cracks) - Oh... (chimes ring) - [Narrator] Most Vegesaurs would just give up.
But Ginger and the young Pea-Rexes are not "Most Vegesaurs."
(Ginger and the Pea-Rexes struggle) (high-pitched suspenseful music) (trombone blares) - Yeah!
(chuckles) Oh no.
Uh... (Broccoliosaurus moans in the distance) We need someone bigger and stronger.
(chime rings) (drums bang) - [Narrator] At a hefty 50 tonnes, the Broccolisaurus weighs roughly the same as three buses.
(Broccoliosaurus moaning) (inspiring music) (Broccoliosaurus moaning) (leaves rustle) - Yeah!
- Surely that made a crack.
- Huh?
(leaves rustling) (Broccoliosaurus groans) (dirt rustles) (dirt scratching) (marimba trickles) (Ginger sighs) (chimes ring) (intriguing music) (Pea-Rex whimpers) - Scary?
Yes.
Easily annoyed?
Yes.
Big and strong?
Oh yes!
It's the one for the job.
(toad croaking) (bird chirps) Okay, here we go.
(bird screeches) - [Narrator] A Pineapplesaurus.
Deeply territorial, its sweet, juicy insides are protected by rock-hard scales.
(Ginger and the Pea-Rexes gasp) (suspenseful music) (Pineapplesaurus groans) - Oh.
(chimes ring) (Pea-Rex murmurs indistinctly) (Ginger and the Pea-Rexes groan) (Pineapplesaurus growling) (Pea-Rexes taunting comically) - [Narrator] Sensing a threat to its domain, the creature rises to the challenge!
Its running headbutt would be like being hit by a speeding train!
- Ah!
(rock cracks) Whoa.
(Pineapplesaurus groans) - [Narrator] That train needed an extra carriage.
- We're not giving up yet.
- Yay!
(chimes ring) - [Narrator] The majestic Coconutdon.
The lanky limbs of this graceful giant support a rock-hard and heavy shell.
(soft music) (steps rumbling) (Ginger struggling) After a day in the hot spring, the Coconutdon is full of warm milk and sleep is not far off.
♪ Go to sleep, sleepy time ♪ Go to sleep (Pea-Rex screeches awake) ♪ Sleepy time (Coconutdon yawns) ♪ Go to sleep (Pea-Rexes panting) (Coconutdon growls) (crystal shatters) (toad croaks) (Coconutdon groans) - Yeah!

Uh, sure, after you.
(Coconutdon blabbers with satisfaction) (Pineapplesaurus growls) (birds chirp) Uh, okay, help yourself.
(Pea-Rexes whimper) (Broccoliosaurus groans) (nectar slushes) Uh, do you think we could have some of the good stuff?
(Vegesaurs growl menacingly) - [Narrator] Ginger will just have to wait for leftovers, if there are any.
- (giggles nervously) That's okay.
We weren't hungry, really.
(playful music) (gentle orchestral music) (exciting music) - Let's sing a song together.
(laughs) (gentle music) - Oh!
- Yay.
- [Ginger] Whoa.
