(gentle music) (birds chirping) (baby murmuring) - Harry child's in the house (laughs).

- She is, yes.

- So, Kasia meets Lois.

The script gives us a lot of these really complicated and funny, in a way, (baby coos) connections and relationships.

- It's been really special working with Zofia because we never got to work together on Series One.

We spent a lot of time together (baby fussing) in the prep and rehearsals, but we never came face to face on set.

- See, I, I am not a mother.

- Those scenes, wow, they're rather awkward to play out.

I think very overwhelming for both females to be sat looking at each other.

It's such a huge part of her boyfriend's betrayal.

- I'm sorry about your dad.

- I think, where we find her in Episode One, it's so important for her to put all the drama aside, - [Lois] Harry.

- She still obviously loves him, and he loves her.

This mental space that Lois is in, she doesn't have the capacity to hate him anymore, to show anger, and I think it's a big indicator of Lois's growth and maturity that she is able to think more about what's important to her and her family.

- But I think despite all of the baggage, there's such a deep friendship there, and there's a real love for each other.

It may not be the same kind of love as it used to be, but there's a deep respect, and he wants to be there for her.

- Both women are equally as important to him.

- That isn't how I would've wanted you to meet Lois.

- Or your child.

- They're now facing up to the realities that they've had a year of incredibly horrific circumstances, and it's really looking at how that's changed them individually and also changed their relationship because they're not the same people.

- It's really beautiful (door rattles) to see the two women connect because they're both in such a dark and grief-stricken place, and they're able to give each other support and strength because they have feelings that unify them, and I think in the face of war that happened a lot to many people.

- [Kasia] She's very beautiful, your baby.

- For me, it was kind of simple.

In a way, it was very truthful, and what these two women just could have said to themselves, in this situation.

It was complicated, but then they were both, they weren't rivals, they weren't fighting with each other.

And I think they had so much compassion for themselves and so much understanding and they didn't see a point of fighting now over some man (laughs), so.
